Editorial Policy
Stroke and Vascular Neurology is an online-only, peer-reviewed, Open Access journal that aims to operate a fast submission and review process with continuous publication online, to ensure timely, up-to-date research is available worldwide. The Journal adheres to a rigorous and transparent peer-review process and all papers will be considered on the basis of ethical and methodological soundness rather than their novelty, significance, or relevance to any particular group.
Submissions should be made through the Journal’s online submission system. All submissions are subject to peer review. Articles should not have been published elsewhere or be under consideration by any other journal when submitted to Stroke and Vascular Neurology. This includes other journals published by BMJ.
Stroke and Vascular Neurology operates a single blind peer review, information on which can be found here. Peer review is managed by the editorial team rather than BMJ or the Chinese Stroke Association to ensure absolute editorial freedom of the journal.
Authors retain copyright of their work and articles are published under a Creative Commons licence.
General information about BMJ’s Open Access programme, including copyright policies and institutional memberships, is available via our author website.
Aims and Scope

SVN will appeal to clinical stroke neurologists, neurosurgeons and basic neuroscientists. It will consider submissions of clinical and translational original research, short reports, editorials, and reviews to improve patient care.
